Weekend trip to Sapa and Bac Ha Market 3 days 4 nights

Escape from hustle and bustle Hanoi, you’ll join a weekend trip to get to the Sapa mountainous area and join an authentic market of colorful H’Mong people called Bac Ha Market which is held every Sunday morning. Bac Ha is known as the largest and most colourful market in the area and attracts throngs of villagers from the surrounding hill tribes. The journey is then continued by taking you to Sapa town which is famous for both its fine, rugged scenery and also its rich cultural diversity. Sapa is an incredibly picturesque town that attracts you indeed.

Full Itinerary
 

Night 1 – Saturday night: Hanoi - night train to Lao Cai
 

In the evening, you’ll take a taxi to the station and will be on a night train with soft sleeper (deluxe cabin), share the cabin with 2 other people and you'll get one top bed and one bottom bed. You’ll have to be at the station 1 hour before departure time. Our tour guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you by taxi to Tran Quy Cap Station where the trains go to Lao Cai (for Sapa trip). Overnight on the train.

Day 1: Lao Cai – Bac Ha - Sapa (B/L)
 

You'll be arriving in Lao Cai station very early in the morning (around 4:30 or 5am). Our local tour guide will be waiting for you at the entrance and on tour with you. After breakfast and freshening up at one of the local restaurants, you’ll take a transfer to Bac Ha Market (about 60km from Lao Cai Station) – a market full of H’Mong colours. After visiting around, watching purchasing activities and looking for hand-made fabrics, the black smithing area, as well as the buffalo zone you’ll have lunch at a local restaurant in Bac Ha town before getting back to Sapa. Check in the hotel in Sapa and free for dinner. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 2: Lao Chai Village – Ta Van Village - Sapa Town (B/L)
 

After breakfast, you’ll trek down to Lao Chai village and Ta Van Village to visit the H’Mong and Day tribes. Have a picnic lunch on the way then keep going along the bottom of the Muong Hoa valley to get to Ta Van village, which is supposed to be the most beautiful one in the area. You’ll then be transferred by a jeep or car back to Sapa. Free to rest in Sapa and have dinner. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 3: Cat Cat Village - night train to Hanoi (B/L)
 

The day starts early with a fairly easy 4 hour hike to Cat Cat Village and Sin Chai villages of Black H'Mong tribe. Enjoy the waterfall in Cat Cat and beautiful scenery along the way. Back to Sapa town for check out hotel and free afternoon for shopping. Around 4:30pm, the guide and driver will transfer you to the station for the night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on train.

About 4 km trekking downhill from Sapa town at the foot of Fansipan Mountain is Sin Chai Village which is home to Red Dao Ethnic people.
